ILSN: What inspires you when you choose characters?
Rika Ai:   Their personality! Especially if I can relate to them in some way. I like to joke that they’re usually super driven shonen boys or they’re badass females. If it’s not the personality that I dig, it’ll be the awesome design (or both).1533879_220726791448891_606358337_n
ILSN: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Rika Ai:   Happy 🙂 Most likely still cosplaying haha.
Maybe I’ll have a waifu and a dog but who knows~

ILSN: What do you do to inspire yourself?
Rika Ai: I enjoy reading inspirational quotes and save them as a reminder. Especially if the quote can be applied to almost anything. One of my favorite quotes is, “If you risk nothing, then you risk everything.” — Geena Davis”

ILSN: What kind of music do you like?
Rika Ai:   Aggressive dubstep, anime weaboo trash music, rock, pop, almost anything but country music.
ILSN: What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Rika Ai:   My entire life. LOL
ILSN: Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Rika Ai:   Sometimes and it happens at the oddest places and usually when I don’t expect it. Most times I’m like “why did I not dress cooler today”.

Celeste Orchid NERD of the MONTH

ILSN:  HI Celeste! Thank you so much for doing this!1236070_552547541467301_780592550_n

CELESTE ORCHID:  Hi Hi!  Thanks so much for honoring me with Nerd of the Month!  I’m very happy and honored to be chosen.

ILSN:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I’m actually one of 5.  I’m second born, and the first daughter.  I’m not very tall; I’m just very photogenic.

ILSN:  How did you come up with the name Celeste Orchid?10908_822550544466998_1998761129558688838_n

CELESTE ORCHID:  At first I used an elven version of my real name: Aeroniel.  No one could ever pronounce it correctly.  I knew this would become a problem.  Thus started a made house of planning to create a new name.

I first wanted something very girlly and such.  I was jumping around ideas.  At the time I was listing to TommyHeavenly6.  I thought that would be a good name to kind of have: a start and end like a real name.  So I decided to go with something heavenly.  I searched the thesaurus for some ideas and came up with Celestial.  I thought that was it.  Then I needed the second part to my name. I thought to use my favorite flower/color as a last name.  So at first it was Celestial Orchid.  It didn’t flow correctly.  So I made it shorter but making it Celesté (like the ee in fiancée) Orchid.  So CE-LES-TEH Orchid… A lot of people said it wrong so I changed it to the last draft Celeste Orchid.

ILSN:   Do you have any new projects coming up? 10850187_768474859874567_2672423413361565946_n

CELESTE ORCHID:  I’m always working on new projects.  I’m planning on a few Fire Emblem characters.  I did get to debut my Olivia from Fire Emblem and was very excited about it.  I’m currently in planning for a Sailor Moon costume or two.  I’m also very excited to try to make a huge armor costume from Monster Hunter.  So be on the look out for that costume this year.10277429_658422414213146_5956778349044517031_n

I have this huge idea of making a Pokémon business card set.  I want to make A LOT of Pokémon costumes this year and hand them out.  They will most definitely be one of a kind.

I am currently working towards my voice-acting career.  So hopefully that gets started this year.  Once again, it’s a new project: a new voyage for me to explore.

ILSN:  Do you have a mini bio about yourself?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I’m American-born Filipino.  I was raised in a military family, in Louisville Kentucky.  I grew up with my father and brother loving anime and video gaming.  My dad really got me into a lot of nerdy things.  My mother got me more into crafting and creating.  It was more jewelry work than fabrics and such.11174851_833975543324498_6172193379850305028_n

ILSN:  What is the craziest story you could tell us?

CELESTE ORCHID:  The CRAZIEST thing I have ever done is either go on a naked date OR I actually had a huge hot glue accident.
The naked date was for television.  I had a lot of fun.  It’s just a date without clothes.  You have to be crazy to do something like that.  No, I’m not a nudist.

The hot glue accident was TERRIBLE.  I was working on my Angel Anarchy Panty costume from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.  I was finishing up the shoes by wearing them and hot gluing it down.  The ankle part I was working on was rather tight the way I wanted.  I got a TINY amount of hot glue on my finger that caused me to release the fabric piece attached the to shoe to adhere to my ankle.  Needless to say when I took the fabric off of my ankle, the skin had peeled off with it.  I now have a minor skin discoloration on my right ankle.  It’s healed very well and hardly noticeable.

ILSN:   Do people recognize you when you go to cons?   DSCN2628

CELESTE ORCHID:  I actually have some people recognize me at conventions.  I’m not huge on the scene.  So when people do recognize me, it’s either from a TV show or they’re my friends. Not necessarily fans.

ILSN:   When you were growing up in Kentucky what was the NERD/Geek scene like?148739_353967114658679_972141940_n

CELESTE ORCHID:  In Kentucky, I had a lot of friends in my school that were the nerdy bunch.  We would sit around and talk about animes and video games.  It was pretty typical.  There wasn’t a huge scene unlike now.  Who we knew, is whom we knew.

ILSN:   Tell us about your website? ? DSCN3038

CELESTE ORCHID:  I used to operate a website.  I got really REALLY lazy.  It was  LOL.  Check it out I definitely hasn’t updated that in forever.  I really just manage my Facebook pages – Godly team Cosplay and Celeste Orchid.

ILSN:   Who would win in a fight Gandalf or Darth Vader?

CELESTE ORCHID:  Darth Vader was first.  He wins.  LOL.  Gandalf actually gets his old fart butt handed to him a lot.  So in all actuality he’s not that strong.

ILSN:   What inspires you when you choose characters?

CELESTE ORCHID: I get very inspired at the design of a character.  I like what it looks like (I’m very drawn to black, white, and blue colors apparently).  Sometimes if I get the chance I watch their series from start to end.  For video game characters, I usually try to watch it on YouTube to understand the character especially if I don’t own the game yet.MarissaFloroPiscesAphrodite

ILSN:   Marvel vs. DC vs. Anime?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I’ve always been an Anime fan.  SO I would have to pick that one over Marvel or DC.  I have always loved Batman first and foremost.  Then it would be Marvel.  I really loved Spider-man and X-men.  Those were my huge favorites of Marvel.  When I got a bit older I started liking Marvel but anime first.   Nowadays, I hardly know anything about DC… pity on my part.

ILSN:   What was your childhood like growing up?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I had my older brother growing up. I feel like I was the bully to him unfortunately.  He would always take care of me and then I’d find a way to get him into trouble and tell my mom.  Not very good on my part huh?  We’re still good siblings.  I played outside a lot.  My mom listened to me asking to do Ballet or do martial arts.  I got lucky and did both.  I enjoyed it a lot.1417546_600623966659658_51552229_o

ILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I think.. five years from now I’d still be playing video games or watching anime.  It never gets old.  I’m still a fan even as I get older.   I hope that I’m still acting and working in the entertainment industry.1149008_546384765416912_1607469008_n

ILSN:  Which cosplay gets the most attention?

CELESTE ORCHID:   I’ve worn Chun Li a few times.  It most certainly gets the most attention.  The best part is that I’m fully covered and not showing skin.  Costumes like that make me very proud that I did a good job on craftsmanship and people’s comments are encouraging to do more great work.

ILSN:  What do you do to inspire yourself?

CELESTE ORCHID: I usually keep an agenda that I write in.  No, it’s not my phone but an actual PAPER BOOK.  Yes, we still have those these days.  I like to look back and see what entries I’ve put in, what my calendar looks like.  If I haven’t filled any of it in, it makes me sad and work harder to do more.  I like being accomplished even if it’s a small bow that I made for my hair.

ILSN:   What do you like to do for fun? 1498968_616794275042627_1933320164_o

CELESTE ORCHID:  My fun times are usually anime and video gaming.  But I do enjoy going to the park for a walk.

ILSN:   What kind of music do you like?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I love the Top 40.  I highly enjoy EDM.  My main dj’s are Steve Aoki, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Tritonal.

ILSN:   What kind of nerd are you?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I’m more of a trendy nerd.  I like making my own cute accessories without over doing it. I’m not the best at quoting everything.  I enjoy it for what it is.  I LOVE EWOKS FROM STAR WARS.  I’m just a nerd about anime and video games the most.  I do like a good Tetris battle though.10636281_731917066863680_8895284278492897723_n

ILSN:   Is there anything you are promoting right now?

CELESTE ORCHID:  If there is anything that I’m promoting, it’s be yourself.  SO what if you’re not as tall as XYZ character.  Go cosplay them, have fun!  That’s the point of it.  COSTUME PLAY.  There are no guidelines.  It’s have fun, if you don’t want to do that, then stress about it then.

ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?1966874_642865162435538_1831070783_n

CELESTE ORCHID:  I think I freaked out when I saw a moving R.O.B. at a convention.  It was electronic and made my inner fan girl cry.

ILSN:   Do people ever recognize you when you go out?

CELESTE ORCHID:  Not a lot of people recognize me when I’m not in cosplay.  Some stores actually recognize me since I visit them normally.  Every once in a while someone does talk to me and say OH I think I know who you are.  I don’t know if that’s just a pick up line.10393891_697501916971862_3300547390478952973_n

ILSN:   What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?

CELESTE ORCHID:  This one kind of breaks my heart a bit.  But makes me happy.  This guy at Wondercon gave me a cd.  I remember it so clear.  He said,” My friend died while we were working on this CD. I know he would have wanted you to have it.”

It really broke my heart that his friend wasn’t there to give it to me in person, but I still own and cherish the CD.  It’s like an electro mix.

ILSN:   What is the hottest costume you have ever worn? 10256382_766444216744298_2496938188522586196_n

CELESTE ORCHID:  By temperature value I think it has to be my C.C. kimono.  I absolutely love this design and had to dress up as it.

My hottest and most scandalous costume would be Felicia or Rikku.  Felicia is the all time go to Cat girl.  Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2 blatantly shows off a thong in a mini skirt.  That’s right a THONG and a bikini top.

ILSN:   Favorite food?

CELESTE ORCHID:  I love ice cream.

ILSN:   Favorite Movies?

CELESTE ORCHID:  My favorite movies are House of Flying Daggers, Phantom of the Opera, and Sword in the Stone.10805797_765389830183070_1483082600945624745_n

ILSN:   Favorite Video Games?

CELESTE ORCHID: My favorite video games are Tetris, Animal Crossing, Final Fantasy VIII, and the Soul Calibur Series.  I’m also very fond of the Tekken and Dead or Alive series.10418913_749736568415063_180473708772620558_n

Any final thoughts or words?

CELESTE ORCHID:                I have fun doing what I do.  I like making new friends and cracking jokes.  If people see something wrong with enjoying a good time, you have to ask yourself.. Are you still having fun?  Remember it’s not always fun and games until someone loses an eye.  But always make it in the right manner and light.

For cosplaying, it’s all about using Google.  You can use it to find people who already made the costume, techniques, references, images, and the list goes on.  Never be afraid to ask for help.  Anyone who isn’t willing to help is honestly the toxic waste that’s in our community.  Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion on how to do something.  Just don’t think it’s the only way.  We can always keep honing our skills to become something greater.

MIZZI MIE:  It’s a funny story really! Back in the day I used to play a lot of Tekken. I even got those Tekken data cards.

Miss.Zim sounded weird and so did mizzim. I wanted it to sound cute so… Mizzimie. thats about it
Ilovesexynerds:   What is the craziest story you could tell us?10818360_421625581344102_1572995827380021656_o

NERD of the MONTH Meryl Sama

1781616_817851821579406_8387925359850137320_o  ILSN:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Meryl Sama:  Hello everyone! I’m Meryl-sama, a cosplayer and amateur model from Italy! I started doing cosplay 5 years ago, but I began sewing my own costumes and getting more serious about his hobby only half and a year ago, in March 2013. At the moment I’m living alone in Milan, Italy. I’m a student and a part time worker.

ILSN:   What is the cosplay scene like in Italy?
Meryl Sama:   Unfortunately, the Italian cosplay scene is getting worse and worse lately. People like to flame about everything regarding cosplay. Everyone is against each other, when we should actually try and get along, helping and welcoming new cosplayers and understanding other opinions and mentalities.

ILSN:   What is the craziest story you could tell us?
Meryl Sama:   Last year, I was wandering around a con, dressed as Lara Croft. As I walked past a guy I heard him say: ”Woah, are they real?”. I  turned around and looked at him: “Really?” “The guns! A-Are the guns real?” “Yeah, and I can use them, you know”. He murmured a “ha-ha, sorry, bye” and went away.  Thinking back at it, it kinda makes me laugh!10516881_876418232389431_1867946517026513202_n

ILSN:   Do you have any projects coming up?
Meryl Sama:   Of course! My next costumes will be from Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill sagas. I’m also preparing more Lara Croft versions and other cosplay from indie video games.

ILSN:   Do people recognize you when you go to cons?
Meryl Sama:   When I’m dressed as Lara or as a Metal Gear character, someone recognizes me as Meryl-sama. If I’m wearing a new costume they hardly recognize me, I guess I’m just too different from my usual self, so I should be happy about it!20707_860915947272993_854626531282614031_n

ILSN:   Tell us about your website?

Meryl Sama:   I have many account on various websites, but the one I more active on is my Facebook page. There, I usually post one photo per day and I display all of my complete photo sets, with my comments, descriptions and opinions on my costumes and works.10906201_874206715943916_2563176227835981135_n

ILSN:   How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?
Meryl Sama:   I first discovered cosplay 7 years ago, at a con in Milan. Since then I dreamed about doing my own costumes, but because of school and other reasons, I haven’t been able to do so. Now that I finally have some time (not too much, but I try to create as much as I can), I’m happy to spend it to sew/make new cosplay!10952395_884211421610112_5235903034595184856_o

ILSN:   What inspires you when you choose characters?
Meryl Sama:   I choose characters to cosplay basing myself on 4 points:
1. Personality: if she’s strong, independent and has charisma (like Lara Croft or Strangelove, for example), I will surely like her and probably choose her as a possible
2. My love for the series: as it’s happening with Metal Gear and Silent Hill, if I love a series very much, I end up doing as many cosplay as I can from the series, to pay it a tribute.
3. Versatility: sometimes, I like to cosplay as characters that don’t reflect my favourite tipe of personality (see point 1), but that I like to act as. An example of this might be my Lisa Garland cosplay: she’s not strong at all, but she’s real, she acts just like any normal person in a dangerous situation would, and I love to emulate her when cosplaying!
4. Friends’ groups: my Rarity from My Little Pony is a clear example of this: I don’t follow the show, but when my friends asked me to help them create their MLP cosplay group, I joined to give them a hand. And I’m glad I did, since we had so much fun together!10947266_882217698476151_5064035072489948519_n

ILSN:   Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Meryl Sama:   I like them all. I think if something is good, then you should watch/read/hear it. I don’t care about the mean of expression: it can be a comic, a manga, an anime, a book etc.
If the story, the characters, the message are interesting, then I will most likely follow it!10945756_885099741521280_4901340789128693914_n

ILSN:   What was your childhood like growing up?
Meryl Sama:   It wasn’t easy growing up in a small, old-mentality city, where everyone thought videogames, TV and alternative kind of  music were evil. But I continued going on with my passions. I kept on playing videogames (the first ones were Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider for me), reading comics and listening to the music I liked. Most of the people kept judjing me bad, but I knew they were just narrow minded people who was afraid of other cultures, and I was right in the end.10421240_830030407028214_5707407713491688596_n

ILSN:   Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Meryl Sama:   I hope to have a job that I like and to keep being who I am. I also hope to continue with cosplay, since it gives me satisfactions and makes me happy. Find true happiness will always be my ultimate goal in life.
ILSN:  Which cosplay gets the most attention?10955640_886408284723759_5236475910417256031_n

It must be my Lara Croft cosplay. Probably because Tomb Raider had (and is having) a great success in Italy: parents and children love Lara, people of all ages recognize the character when I’m dressed as her and often ask to take photos with me.
What do you do to inspire yourself?
I study great cosplayers’ works and learn from them and from web tutorials how to get better at sewing, doing my make up, posing etc.

ILSN:   What do you like to do for fun?
Meryl Sama:   Playing videogames msut my favourite hobby. I like complicated and/or long stories, like those in Final Fantasy, Metal Gear saga or Legend of Zelda, for example. To relax myself completely I like to read books, play Just Dance or watch funny videos on the web, possibly with my friends.10171878_855531424478112_5389187491835674784_n

ILSN:   What kind of music do you like?
Meryl Sama:   The concept is always the same for me! I don’t have a favourite kind: I like all type of music, if a song has beautiful melody, lyrics and gives you strong feelings, I will listen to it and love it, no matter what kind it is. If I have to choose a favourite singer/group I would say Dolores O’Riordan and Coldplay. I also love Akira Yamaoka’s compositions and Akiko Shikata’s voice.

ILSN:   what kind of nerd are you?
Meryl Sama:   I’m the type of nerd that’s always searching for something new: as you could read, I love and follow every existing mean of expression, from videogames to books, to animation, to TV shows. Though I have some favorite works, I never get stuck on one or more of them in particular: I just love to discover new and interesting stories!

ILSN:   Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Meryl Sama:   Lately, I helped promoting Games Week, a very interesting and famous Italian con about retro and modern videogames and technology. We walked the streets of Milan cosplaying videogame characters and promoting the event, we also went to a Game-themed party after that. It was a lot of fun! A video of the event is coming soon

ILSN:   What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Meryl Sama:   Once, I played Final Fantasy IX for 10 hours, non-stop. I was 17, home alone, and I didn’t realize how fast time passed… Guess this happens when you’re into a great game!ilovegamers4

ILSN:   Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Meryl Sama:   It happened only once, though I was surprise, since I like to keep my work and hobbies separate. Most of the people who work with me and see me everyday don’t even know what cosplay is and some of them even have a bad attitude towards nerds and gamers. Italy has a long way to go!1393689_881198485244739_2221727395204644859_n

ILSN:   What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?

Meryl Sama:   I love when people sends me their own representation of my cosplay. A fan sent me a bunch of re-edited Elfen Lied photo of me as Lucy. He changed the eye color, making a strange but cool horror revisitation of it. At first it kinda scared me, but I liked it a lot, guess it’s because I like horror so much!
ILSN:   What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
Meryl Sama:   I think it must be my bikini version of Cècile Cosima Caminades. It’s an official swimsuit version you can find in the game Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It’s a kinda revealing, but I feel at ease with it!

ILSN:   Favorite food?

Meryl Sama:   I’m vegan, so I have to say I just can’t choose between vegan pizza or Japanese avocado maki!10382833_763105887054000_5133008213079953806_n

ILSN:   Favorite Movies?
Meryl Sama:   Blade Runner, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Tron, Leon, Up, Saving private Ryan, Kill Bill, Apocalypse Now, Schindler’s List and others.10941825_884629721568282_6218997085493226050_n

ILSN:   Favorite Video Games?
Meryl Sama:   Final Fantasy IX, Metal Gear Solid 3, Silent Hill 2, Tomb Raider IV, Chrono Cross/Trigger, Dragon Quest IV, Ace Attorney saga, Ghost Trick, Kingdom Hearts saga, Tales of Vesperia, To the Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (though Ocarina of Time is objectively better, I loved TP’s atmosphere) and more!

Natalie Victoria NERD of the MONTH

The new NERD of the MONTH is Natalie Victoria!   She is an actress, Model and Social Medial Consultant!    She is also the star of DeadHeads and Chemical peel.  She is one of the nicest down to earth people.

IloveSEXYnerds: Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Natalie Victoria:  I’m an actress and a writer.308768_244243218958167_68183153_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Tell us about the cult classic movie DEADHEADS.NatalieVictoria-8
Natalie Victoria: Two inexplicably coherent zombies awake amidst a zombie attack, and decide to take a road trip to find the one’s lost love “Ellie” who I play. Ellie is Mike’s long lost love. He sets out to find once he wakes up as a zombie from a 3-year sleep. Ellie is this sweet girl-next-door who is slightly clumsy and awkward in her own way. Okay, she is kind of a big clutz, but very lovable. I loved it! She’s a slow reveal until the very end of the film, which allows audiences to discover who she is along the way.284144_204486779600478_2098924_n

Along the way, the two zombies are unaware they are being chased by the agents of a ruthless company with its own agenda and the comedy and adventure unfolds from there…I don’t want to give it away, but it’s got adventure, comedy, and romance all rolled into one movie with a ton of pop culture references. If you loved films from the 80s like Goonies and Back to the Future, you will love DEADHEADS.

Oh and I also play the zombie bride – which was devilishly fun to play as well… I mean really, what actress wouldn’t love ripping a guy’s chest open, pulling his heart out, and sinking her teeth into the flesh of his still beating heart?293138_231053326943823_651410349_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Do you have any new projects coming up?
Natalie Victoria:   1. ABSTRACTION (action/crime/thriller) CoStar Role, Releasing January 27, 2015 via Breaking Glass Pictures.
2. LAST SHIFT (thriller/horror) CoStar Role, Releasing late 2015.
3. THE LOOKOUT (crime/drama) Starring Role, currently in post-production and hitting film festivals in late 2015.NatalieVictoria-71507896_745460632169754_6571291716213781991_n

I am also looking for great projects and interesting directors to work with, so I am hoping to find some new surprises this year out there and really push myself as an artist. Currently though, I have two web series I am working on, I am developing two short films, a feature, and finishing two other scripts – so it’s going to be an exciting year and I can’t wait!163289_151010548281435_4547387_n

IloveSEXYnerds: What would you be doing if you weren’t a model/actress?
Natalie Victoria: I am definitely first and foremost, an actress. And although I can take a pretty picture or two from time to time, I am certainly by no means a professional model. If I weren’t acting, I would be donating my time to help others in need.998544_542125335836619_1960816461_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Do you have a mini bio about yourself?
Natalie Victoria: Sure! It’s on IMDB here,

IloveSEXYnerds: What is the craziest story you could tell us?
Natalie Victoria: I went to a house party for a birthday, and several hours later woke up at the bottom of a steep staircase in a pool of my own blood with my head cracked open…fast forward to ambulance then hospital, needles in my head to several staples later and I was fixed and home safely. I haven’t been to a house birthday party since. Nothing surprises me anymore. Everyone is crazy. I live in LA.NatalieVictoria-14

IloveSEXYnerds: Do people recognize you when you go to cons?
Natalie Victoria: For me personally, I do not go to cons. I used to go to comic-con years ago, but I stopped going once it became over-commercialized. It’s just not my scene anymore. That said, I don’t feel it makes or breaks your “nerd status” to attend/not attend. Maybe I will go back in a year or so. Never say never, right?1535703_617836881598797_1163166988_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Tell us about your website?
Natalie Victoria: My website is currently under construction –but you can visit my IMDB for all the latest on my films and acting projects,

IloveSEXYnerds: Who would win in a fight Darth Vader or Gandolf?
Natalie Victoria: Gandolf! He defeated a Belrog demon who is supernatural in nature and can not be defeated by a mere human seeing as he has the ability to shroud himself in fire, darkness, and shadow. So yea, I would have to say the wizard. Gandolf says, “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!” and you won’t…!179436_160812773967879_2592201_n

IloveSEXYnerds: What inspires you when you choose characters?
Natalie Victoria: Anything that scares me. When I first started acting, I was always cast as the love interest or sweet girl next door – as my craft matured, I now find myself drawn to more complex characters who are multi-layered in both their emotions and motives. You are not sure if they are good or bad or somewhere in between. I look for strong but vulnerable roles – that are layered and real and raw.

IloveSEXYnerds: Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Natalie Victoria: Definitely DC – They have all the dark & complicated characters. And let’s face it, they have Batman. HOT!

IloveSEXYnerds: What was your childhood like growing up?
Natalie Victoria: Imaginative, creative, and adventurous.314837_229399387109217_1591580399_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Natalie Victoria: Acting, writing, and producing a myriad of projects both for amazing directors and under my own production company, and making a bigger difference in this world by helping others in need and those who are hurting.

IloveSEXYnerds: What do you do to inspire yourself?
Natalie Victoria: I usually take a long walk or hike – inspiration comes easy when you clear your head from the noise of day-to-day nonsense and incessant ringing of technology.76597_429407030441784_448530802_n

IloveSEXYnerds: What do you like to do for fun?

Natalie Victoria:   Something unexpected.

IloveSEXYnerds: What kind of music do you like?

Natalie Victoria:   All types, I am an artist! Vintage music from the 20s, 30s, 40s – pop, rock and roll, classical, jazz, alternative, electronic, oldies, and more. I like to immerse myself in all types of tunes depending on my mood or focus.

IloveSEXYnerds: What kind of nerd are you?

Natalie Victoria:   I didn’t realize there were categories.

IloveSEXYnerds: Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Natalie Victoria: My latest film “ABSTRACTION” (action/crime/thriller) CoStar Role, Releasing January 27, 2015 via Breaking Glass Pictures. Be sure to check it out on VOD/DVOD and select theatres!404267_312375868811568_1801071731_n

IloveSEXYnerds: What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Natalie Victoria: I don’t see myself in terms of labels like that so I can’t say anything I have ever done is “nerdy”. For me, I just happen to like and know and collect a lot of things from what is considered a “nerd culture”… doesn’t mean I am a nerd. Just an appreciator of great stories and characters. So although, I hate being defined by labels, I’ll be your honorary “nerd” for this month. 😉148653_622769007772251_1118673280_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Do people ever recognize you when you go out?

Natalie Victoria:
I live in Los Angeles so working actors, celebrities, artists, and the like – we all see each other everyday and it’s not a big deal. But sure, every once in a great while you have someone come up to you at an event and say they know you from a film you have done and get excited. That’s always nice, to be recognized for your work as an actress and artist – I don’t mind that at all. 😉526713_366032283445926_1735210848_n

IloveSEXYnerds: What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?

Natalie Victoria:
For Halloween? Um, I don’t know if it’s the “hottest” but my favorite Halloween costume I ever did was a year ago for Game Of Thrones – I was Princess Daenerys. As far as professional costumes go, most of my wardrobe for films are pretty tame since I play characters based in reality vs. something like scifi. Although, I would love to shoot a sci-fi film like ALIENS with a great script one day!149246_145872058795284_4418356_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Favorite food?

Natalie Victoria:
I don’t eat. I am an actress. 1794657_635707073145111_1422845966_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Favorite Movies?

Natalie Victoria:

Here’s some; ALIENS, BraveHeart, The Last of the Mohicans, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Star Wars (4, 5, & 6 only), and The Matrix Trilogy – but mainly the first one, Gone with the Wind, V-the MiniSeries, Predator 1 and 2, The Thing, The Blob, Black Book, Schindlers List, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Die Hard 1 and 2, Once Upon Time in The West, The Count of Monte Cristo, Whiplash, Blue Valentine, Casablanca, E.T., Terminator 1 and 2, Planet of the Apes (60s version), Edge of Tomorrow, Snowpiercer, Back to the Future Trilogy, Goonies, X-Men Movies, District 9, RoboCop, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Jurassic Park (all three), any Marvel movie, they are just great! – Come on DC, I am counting on you!….and let’s see… Indiana Jones movies, Kill Bill (1 and 2), The Raid (1 & 2), Lethal Weapon (all of them), heat, casino, good fellas, the departed, Carlito’s Way, City of God, Nightcrawler, Inside Man, Moulin Rouge, Great Gatsby, The Shawshank Redemption, Rudy, Ben-Hur, King Kong, The Searchers…oh stop me now!69016_138389642876859_4279093_n

IloveSEXYnerds: Favorite Video Games?

Natalie Victoria:
I love all the HALO Games, Assassins Creed, and Destiny – but I haven’t been able to play video games too often due to my workload and shooting schedules. I just don’t have the time anymore, which is sad because video games are so much fun!549713_402755516440269_288547158_n

Ilovesexynerds:  Tell us about your website? ?

Miyuki Cosplay:  No website so far! I have a presence on several social media platforms, but the best ways to connect with me are through my Facebook page ( and Twitter (@MiyukiCosplay).Death Note Amane Misa by Miyuki Cosplay, photography by Open your eyes visuals

Ilovesexynerds:  How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?

Miyuki Cosplay:  My friend really wanted me to cosplay with her at Anime North 2012, so we both ordered costumes from China. Mine was really crappy, so I decided to make it from scratch the night before. I pulled an all-nighter handsewing the FFX-2 lenne costume and was fairly content with the results, and has been cosplaying ever since ☺battle bunny riven by Miyuki Cosplay, photography by Wilson Lau

In a nutshell: started cosplay because of peer pressure, fell in love with it because it really is amazing to see your hard work materialize!

Ilovesexynerds:  What inspires you when you choose characters?

Miyuki Cosplay:  I like to choose challenging costumes with nice detailing (ex. Aion sorc). I try to replicate the detailing as accurately as I can.Aion Online Elyos Sorceror Miyuki Cosplay, photography by Vivid Vision

Ilovesexynerds:  Marvel vs DC vs Anime?

Miyuki Cosplay:  Anime/Manga for sure! I absolute LOVE seinen manga (manga targeted towards males 17-40 years of age) and always read it when I’m on public transit, which is awkward sometimes because you never know when the next page is going to be full of nudity XD15321850438_2a3a1cb1f2_o

Ilovesexynerds:  What was your childhood like growing up?

Miyuki Cosplay:  I was awkward and introverted, and immigrating to Canada at the age of 9 only made it harder for me to make friends. In fact, I didn’t have many friends until I started University. My parents were the typical strict and overprotective Asian parents, and wouldn’t let me go out or do anything after school. As a result, I spent most of my free time holed up in my room playing MMORPG’s under the pretence of doing homework. X_X Sounds familiar? Haha~Aion Elyos Sorceror Miyuki Cosplay, photography by Addy Davies

Ilovesexynerds:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Miyuki Cosplay:  I will have finished my Ph.D by that time, and probably will either be working or pursuing further education. Maybe I will have started a family too, who knows! Hopefully I will still have time for my hobbies! In any case I hope I will still be as happy and fun as I am today, and not let the stress of “adult life” get to me.Aion Online Elyos Sorceror Miyuki Cosplay, photography by Vivid Vision

Ilovesexynerds:   What do you like to do for fun?

Miyuki Cosplay: I have a lot of hobbies, but sadly not enough time for all of them! Other than cosplay, I also love salsa dancing, cooking, playing instruments (flute, synthesizer, guzheng), writing music (have a few instrumental tracks on my Youtube), and of course watching anime and playing video games!15517106461_6ba54dd28a_o

Ilovesexynerds:   What kind of music do you like?

Miyuki Cosplay:  Is it lame if I said I like video game music? Final Fantasy music is my life, and I absolutely worship Nobuo Uematsu. His ability to instill tremendous emotion in the audience is unrivalled.

I also like Yiruma (Kiss the Rain please, so delicate and sentimental), Davichi (It’s okay that’s love <3), and bachata music (that’s the salsa influence coming in, so sensual and romantic).15485416666_2281ab6e37_o

Ilovesexynerds:   What kind of nerd are you?

Miyuki Cosplay:  Tri-nerd! By that I mean a combination of music nerd, video game nerd, and science nerd. Forgive me if I make science jokes, it happens 😛

Ilovesexynerds:   What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?

Miyuki Cosplay:  So far it would probably be Battle Bunny Riven from LoL or RO Stalker. The upcoming Touhou racing girl is pretty hot, and I also have a Sailor Mars boudoir cosplay possibly in the making!Death Note Amane Misa by Miyuki Cosplay, photography by Vancouver Cosplay

Ilovesexynerds:   Favorite food?

Miyuki Cosplay:  Food is the love of my life. If I had to name one I would say ice cream, but meat and kimchi chiggae also rank pretty high up there.

Ilovesexynerds:  Favorite Video Games?

Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Golden Sun, Ragnarok Online, DDR/ITG/Stepmania

Currently, Candace is the Managing Editor of Viva Glam Magazine,
ILSN:    What is the craziest story you could tell us?
Candace Kita:   One of the craziest stories that recently happened to me occurred last week.  I had to go to Punta de Mita, Mexico for a job and spent the entire week working with a person who ended up being on the FBI’s Most Wanted List.  He was #3.  Our flight back to LAX was stopped by the FBI and he was apprehended on the plane.  Ironically, I still think he is a nice, charming and extremely efficient person.  After spending a week with him, we were all sad to see him go.
ILSN:   Do you have any projects coming up?
Candace Kita:  Yes, I just shot a rom-com for Australia called “The Love Addict”. It is a romantic, light-hearted comedy about a man who can’t stop falling in love.
ILSN:  One of my favorite shows growing up was kamen rider (masked rider) .  Tell us your experience being on that show.
Candace Kita:   I had the pleasure of being on Masked Rider for over 2 years. We shot 3 seasons and 40 episodes and some of my best friends have come from this show. In fact, AJ, who played Albee, is now a rap musician and I’ll be seeing him next Tuesday at a television interview. And I saw David, who played Hal, last week for Chinese food.
ILSN:  Tell us about your website?
Candace Kita:    Haha, thank you for asking about my website. My website, is in the process of being overhauled, so I’m very excited about the way it will look soon.  My other website, gives quick and easy safety tips to women on subjects such as travel safety, campus life, internet safety, dating, getting your first apartment, among others.
ILSN:  Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Candace Kita:   Marvel! I was in a Marvel comic book for Masked Rider and was happy they even drew in my mole that I have on my face!
Screen Shot 2014-09-15 at 2.42.46 PM
ILSN:  What was your childhood like growing up?
Candace Kita:   I had a great childhood in that I was exposed to many different cultures in a short amount of time. I grew up in London, Antwerp, and Texas.  So I experienced city life and also country.  I remember eating peanut butter, bacon and watercress sandwiches at Harrod’s each week for tea and also threw cow patties in the fields behind my house in Texas.  It was the best of both worlds.
ILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Candace Kita:    Still pursuing my dreams and still hard at work.
ILSN:  What do you do to inspire yourself?
Candace Kita:    Good question. A friend of mine said no matter how hard you work, you have to put a prize somewhere in the package for yourself.  Meaning, put something in the future that you are always looking forward to.  Whether it be going to a museum exhibit you have read about, going on a small trip out of town or ordering a great book on Amazon, these small things inspire and excite you about life.  You always have to have something to get excited over.  It is important and even the small things count.
Screen Shot 2014-09-17 at 10.24.59 AM
ILSN:  What do you like to do for fun?
Candace Kita:    Reading, catching up with friends and an occasional nap isn’t bad either.
ILSN:  What kind of music do you like?
Candace Kita:  Amy Winehouse, 1940’s torch singing, The Punch Brothers
ILSN:  what kind of nerd are you?
Candace Kita:  . I’m the quintessential Asian nerd. I have learned a long time ago to embrace it.
Screen Shot 2014-09-17 at 10.25.15 AM
ILSN:  is there anything you are promoting right now?
Candace Kita:   Yes, of course, I am the Managing Editor of Viva Glam Magazine, a women’s lifestyle magazine.  Live the life you want and you can have it all, but live compassionately and with love.
ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Candace Kita:    Well, I can think of one of the nerdiest things I would have done, had I have known in time.  Last month, Grumpy Cat was in Santa Monica at a book signing. Apparently, people were waiting in line for over 5 hours to see her. Yep, I’m that girl.  I probably would have stood in line for 5 hours myself because who would have gone with me?!?!?!
ILSN:  Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Candace Kita:   I’m always shocked and surprised if anyone recognizes me.  Once I was parking my car at a grocery store. A man came up to me and said he had just seen me on TV that very morning.  I said thank you for noticing. He then said, “Girl, they need to give you more lines!!!”  Haha, too funny!
ILSN:  What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
Candace Kita:   Boy, what a question. I’ve gotten insane gifts, some of which I won’t mention, from probably mentally unstable people.  But I have gotten some very nice hand drawings and also crochet (believe it or not) that I greatly appreciate.
ILSN:  What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
Candace Kita:   Zombie Schoolgirl
ILSN:  Favorite food?
Candace Kita:   I love all foods so this is a difficult question.  Love European chocolate for sure!
ILSN:  Favorite Movie?
Candace Kita:   Withnail and I and Grey Gardens rate high, but I’m a movie buff so it is difficult to choose!
ILSN:  Favorite videogame?
Candace Kita:   Dead or Alive from Techmo as I was Lei Fang for them for many years.10727774_353899971439998_881695582_n
ILSN:  Also give me the links to all your social media pages 🙂

Gandakris NERD of the MONTH

October NERD of the MONTH is Gandakris!  She is an artist, youtuber and cosplayer from Vegas!  Here is her interview. 10660363_767044860020635_2748432146571811728_n
ILSN:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Gandakris:  I do have a documentary that dabbles into my past and how I came from being very shy to out going! You can check it out on my Youtube!10580163_753973531327768_4382335692233646827_n
ILSN:  Do you have any projects coming up?
I have a ton! Sometimes my mind races and jumps from one project to the next. Ill be finishing 3 new cosplays while setting up photoshoots, starting and helping 2 businesses as well as drawing more to keep up with my instagram. I eventually want to tap into my youtube again to teach my audience, I miss teaching others to become inspired.
ILSN:  Tell us about your website? ?
Gandakris:   Currently I do not have a website but I am on instagram tumblr facebook twitter and deviantart! I try my best to update all my social web stuff. Its a challenge considering I try to respond and comment to all the feedback!10527523_753973407994447_6076803691845388824_n
ILSN:  How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?
Gandakris:   My cosplay frenzie all started with my sister Vanessa aka  known as fruitcake! She asked me to help with her Aqua cosplay from Kingdom Hearts and I fell in love. I fell in love with the thought of mobile walking art. hehe
ILSN:  What inspires you when you choose characters?
Gandakris:   The love of the game and or character is what gets me motivated! Even more so the design is what catches my eye and I try my best to capture as much if not more detail. I’d imagine the character as a living person and try my best to give it a realistic look.
ILSN:  Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Gandakris:   Oh I have to go with Marvel = DC I’ve recently tapped into that world due to my best friend and partner Jason. After I fell in love with Fables my boyfriend introduced me to the world of comics!10371754_707285372663251_7268494501514206368_n
ILSN:  What was your childhood like growing up?
Gandakris:   My childhood was AMAZING! I have my sisters to thank for that! Without my sisters being so different from each other and having a loving relationship with each. I wouldn’t have the friends nor the strength to keep moving forward without them.
ILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Gandakris:   Wow I honestly dont know and its scary but exciting. What I do know is that I’ll be happy because I’m happy where I am right now. It doesn’t mean I wont keep moving forward, rather I enjoy a simple life while continuing to enhance myself as a being.
ILSN:  What do you do to inspire yourself?
Gandakris:   I use the people around me in order to get inspired. Weird sounding yes but let me explain. haha I love the reactions people make when they see my art. Its my addiction. When I was shy I used my art as a shield so rather than people getting to know me past my bubble I simply let my art do all the talking! I learned over the years that the true reward is conversing with the lives I touched through my art. They tell me how much my art has impacted them and I tell them how appreciative I am. Everyone single person is important to me.
ILSN:  What do you like to do for fun?
Gandakris:   I love to relieve my mind of projects by playing sports! I’ve recently got into Ultimate Frisbee Dodgeball and Paintball. I try my best keep to keep myself active considering Im always in a chair painting and drawing. hehe10690354_779613312097123_1009854174068135032_n
ILSN:  What kind of music do you like?
Gandakris:   I listen to everything! I knows its almost everyones response but I really do! RnB Hiphop acoustic rock edm etc When I work I play music and if I like the track or artist I dive in! Im open to all genres but I am on the fence with country. xD
ILSN:  What kind of nerd are you?
Gandakris:   I’m a people nerd! I fangirl hard when introduced to people who inspire me. Its pretty bad .. .. .. I get a feeling in my throat and suddenly I cant talk. You’d think it would end there but I become really goofey. haha
ILSN:  Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Gandakris:   I’m always promoting myself as an artist. I know for my audience its hard to keep up with me considering all I do in the art field but I never want to limit myself!
ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Gandakris:   Where do I begin!?! I have so many moments and its hard to pin point just one but I did have Daigo from madcatz sign my Ibuki Cosplay. Swoozie was at EVO and I went fangirl crazy then I hugged Markman too xD560022_562363013822155_1477951271_n
ILSN:  Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Gandakris:   No. XD
Although EVO 2014 was when I realized the whole FGC ( fighting game community ) considered me family. Literally I had over 60+ tags relating to my cosplay and balltops at EVO this year. I had people calling me Kris/ GandaKris left and right. I fangirl’d because they Fangirl’d. I love them because they love me. I don’t want fans I want friendships.
ILSN:  What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
Gandakris:   I haven’t gotten any crazy gifts but I do receive a few #wcw ( women crush Wednesdays ), trinkets, drawings, and among other things! I seez and lovez them allz!
ILSN:  What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
Gandakris:  The Hottest Costume thus far would have to be Ibuki its not too revealing although you can see my butt butt what what! lol
999300_603869786338144_828620155_nILSN:  Favorite food?
Gandakris:   I LOVE FRUITS TEA and CANDY. Seriously thats usually my meal heheMy current favorite movie is Guardians of the Galaxy. Im watching it twice and buying it on Blue Ray. Life is fun but if you can bring friends along then bring them. ❤

Ilovesexynerds NERD of the MONTH Freddie Nova!

ILSN:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?  Do you have a mini bio about yourself?

Freddie Nova:  I’m just a really hyper chick who has never had the patience to even try to fit in with the “norm”. I’m an independent business woman with a pet care business by day/Action hero by night. I’m all about chasing dreams & running around in capes, spandex & armor happens to be one of em!
What is the craziest story you could tell us?
620498_4412375476260_1628253743_oFreddie Nova: Freddie Nova:  That’s a WAY hard question when crazy is my everyday. I mean one day I made a passing comment on a photog’s FB page, the next day I bought a plain ticket, 4 days later I was a viral sensation as Venom. Surreal is just a thing with me.
Do you have any projects coming up?

Freddie Nova:  Always 🙂
Working on some pirate Disney characters, a new silicone Witchblade & planning one last symbiote shoot. Hope to rock Lagatha from Vikings one day as well.941634_557771394273697_923850795_n
ILSN:    Can you tell us your experience when you were on Comicbook men?
Freddie Nova:   Well i made it into a 3 day journey to visit Convention friends along the way since I had low expectations of filming so that way the trip would be fun no matter what. But overall I had fun when I got there, everyone BUT Walt was really nice. While I was hoping for a more stimulating conversion about comics or Cosplay, Walt steered it in a lame direction but I was happy the show was so well received.
ILSN:   Tell us about your website? ?
Freddie Nova:  Anyone is welcome to hit the “Follow” button on my personal page but to follow my costume progress, con experiences & general shenanigans, I JUST started a public page finally “Super Nova’s Costuming Guide to the Galaxy”.FreddieTLHow did you get into doing cosplay costumes?
Been reading comics for over 18 years, saw people dressed up at Cons & wanted to give it a try. After that I was hooked!
ISLN:   What inspires you when you choose characters?
Freddie Nova: First it was favorites, then I look for build challenges or characters I think I can pass for. I really love to transform into looking just like them & not recognizable as myself. That’s a far greater accomplishment.
ILSN:   Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Freddie Nova:  I equally enjoy Marvel & older DC. But if you see what I Cosplay, you can tell I prefer independents.
Not an anime fan at all (sorry, just not my bag)superman_2 copy
ILSN:    What was your childhood like growing up?
Freddie Nova:  I was lonely, black-sheep type, so my imagination & creative side excelled as a result
ILSN:    Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Freddie Nova:  OLD! I’m already 32, I honestly don’t know that i’ll be cosplaying past 35 but still plan to hit occasional conventions & really want to get back to writing my own Graphic Novel
ILSN:   What do you do to inspire yourself?
Freddie Nova:  I don’t stress the little things in life, I am hyper & hate sitting still, so I do things to stay active & productive. Cosplay is a great outlet if you just do it for fun.10505438_10202452303411282_2471192532297603114_n

Freddie Nova:  Not sure I could ever pinpoint one thing! What just popped in my head though was one time at a Steel City Con, a guy was selling an 8ft Millennium Falcon from when the original films were released & it was a ceiling display at Toys R Us. I geeked! I made him a cash offer, he accepted but was a really nice dude & asked how I was getting it home, I said my SUV & he was like “it won’t fit, it only fits into a 2 door commercial van & bigger. I was like “NOOOOOO!”. Went & measured my car, then spent next 24 hours trying to find a way to get it back  to my old house 2 1/2hrs away but there wasn’t a non-rapey priced way to do it. I was so sad panda 😦
ILSN:    Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Freddie Nova:   Sometimes, but not too often. At conventions for sure but everyday life, it’s rare. Especially since i’m a master of disguise in costume.10290669_10201962380363512_3424997797803140985_n

Mandee Cosplay Nerd of the MONTH

ILSN: Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Mandee:  My name is Mandee, and I was born and raised in Canada! I’ve been watching anime and gaming since I was a small child. I thank my older brother for introducing me into the great nerd world.10309198_588861387900952_7842756509511247709_n

ILSN: What is the craziest story you could tell us?
Mandee:  When I was 15 years old taking the train in Japan, I was in a hurry and rushed onto the train. My arm got caught in the door and I couldn’t get it out. The train started to move and I thought my arm was going to get blown off. I kept pulling and was calling for help, but everyone just stared at me. The door opened slightly somehow and I fell backwards. Good thing I still have my arm haha.

ILSN: Do you have any projects coming up?
Mandee: Yes! I will have 3 new cosplays for the upcoming PAX Prime!10537886_584528461667578_3764989155030172883_n

ILSN: How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?

Mandee:  I’ve always wanted to cosplay because I’m such a big fan of anime, so eventually I ended up doing it, even if I did it alone haha.

ILSN: What inspires you when you choose characters?
Mandee:  I’m not sure, I kind of just fall in love with the character and decide I want to cosplay them.

10543609_585407368246354_7135519620300903245_nILSN: Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Mandee:  ANIME hands down. Unfortunately, I never got into the comic book scene.

ILSN: What was your childhood like growing up?
Mandee:  Quite normal; I went to school, played games, watched anime, ate food, and slept. I actually didn’t have very many friends, and found it difficult to relate to others in my class.10521370_577894208997670_5892469730617387348_n

ILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Mandee:  Haha I don’t know! Anything could happen really. I hope to still be doing cosplay.

ILSN: What is the most interesting experience you have ever had at a CON?
Mandee:  The first time I went to a US con was Anime Expo (in 2013). I didn’t really know anyone there, and I had just gotten into cosplaying. When I entered the convention center I was rushed by so many people asking to take a photo of me/with me, and I was just standing there really surprised and posing badly haha. I even heard some hate comments about me, which made me feel disheartened. It all happened really fast, which was a cool experience.998226_406619826125110_2146299149_n

ILSN:  What do you do to inspire yourself?
Mandee:  Watch anime? Haha. There’s so many things to cosplay! 10500416_578526552267769_4387222508893527057_n

> ILSN:  What do you like to do for fun?
Mandee:  Watch anime, play random games, eat waffles, surf the web, look at weird things on Ebay… the list goes on.

ILSN:  What kind of music do you like?
Mandee:  I mostly listen to EDM, but I listen to all kinds of music.

10557427_591900150930409_8022373386440158397_nILSN: Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Mandee:  Business wise, no. But I am always promoting people to cosplay!

ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?>
Mandee:  When I was into World of Warcraft, I really wanted the Netherwing drake mount, and the only way to get it is to be exalted reputation with Netherwing. So I did the daily quests everyday, and I memorized all the spawn points of the eggs and searched for them every hour/few hours so I can collect them and hand them in for rep. I did this for 20 days straight and got my Netherdrake. May not be my nerdiest thing, but I was pretty damn happy after I got it.10409496_570277756425982_4258791779108676675_n10461634_569019949885096_4404091594440311271_n

ILSN: Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Mandee:  Yes actually. One time someone recognized me at the mall and made an instagram post about it!10259933_571354466318311_8340755081402252532_n

ILSN: What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
Mandee:  I haven’t received many gifts. I recently got a Kill la Kill charm from a cool person!

ILSN: What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
Mandee:  All my costumes are hot.10251947_547496212037470_2868161617416800161_n

ILSN: Favorite food?
Mandee:  Ramen or Curry! 10169450_560655430721548_2612663306817349023_n

ILSN: Favorite Movies?
Mandee:  Studio Ghibli ones ~

ILSN: Favorite Video Games?

NERD of the MONTH Xxfruitcakexx

ILSN:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Xxfruitcakexx: My name is Vanessa de Galicia but I go by fruitcake online. I started cosplaying around 2005 but stopped for a couple years after I got back surgery for scoliosis. I started cosplaying again in 2009.Since then I’ve been cosplaying a wide range of characters and I continue to challenge myself with new projects. I usually cosplay video game characters because I love video games and its easy for me to enjoy the stories and characters when I play.
ILSN: What is the craziest story you could tell us?
Xxfruitcakexx: I don’t really have a crazy story but I do have some awesome experiences from cosplay. Last year at anime expo when I cosplayed Frost Queen Janna from League of Legends, my friends and I were stopped by a group of Riot employees and players. It was a super fan-girling moment especially when they said the loved our costumes. Its really a dream come true for cosplayers to be admired for their work by the people who made the game/anime.

ILSN: Do you have any projects coming up?

Xxfruitcakexx: I do! 😀 I’m actually working on several cosplays for my husband and myself. They are going to be secret projects for now but lets just say I am going to cosplay some of my dream cosplays so I am very excited to start on these soon. They wont be done till next year however. XD
ILSN: Tell us about your website? ?
Xxfruitcakexx: I have many websites where you can find my work. I usually update my facebook page the most and I have all my pictures there as well as links to all my social media. I have a website (link provided on fb page) but I don’t update at the moment and I am working on improving it as well. I have an instagram, twitter, tumblr, storeevnvy, and cure. (all provided on the fb page.)

ILSN: How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?
Xxfruitcakexx:  I attended my first con in 2005. It was a small con in Las Vegas so it was nothing like how big cons are today. Even though, I saw many people in costume and many were my favorite characters. They were having so much fun and were getting lots of people to smile and laugh so I decided I wanted to do that as well. I always tell people my being a con goer and being a cosplayer are two different experiences at cons and I fully enjoy being a cosplayer.

ILSN: What inspires you when you choose characters?
Xxfruitcakexx:  I am a huge gamer! I found it very easy for me to connect with video games characters because you have to play them. I find characters that I absolutely love. They can range from similar looks and personality as me or be totally opposite. I enjoy characters who are nothing like how I am because then I get to transform myself and be someone else for a while. Whether the character has a simple costume or an elaborate one, I enjoy bringing the potential out for each of my costumes.

ILSN: Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Xxfruitcakexx:  DC! 😀 I’m a huge batman fan! My favorite character is Cat Woman hands down! Her personality and outlook on life is one we wish we all had. lol No cares and just doing stuff for ourselves, but occasionally she helps batman out.
ILSN: What was your childhood like growing up?
Xxfruitcakexx:  Awesome! haha I am the eldest of three sisters. My sisters and I are easily compared too the power puff girls. I’m definitely like blossom, my middle sister, absolutely like bubbles, and my youngest sister is a buttercup. haha My sisters and I have always been close. We were very outgoing and hyper. We got into so much trouble when we were young I wonder why my mom never threw us out. lol Just kidding.  My parenst used to be against cosplay but I took them to Anime Expo one year and they loved it. I have a strong supportive family and I know without them I wouldn’t have accomplished as much as I have.

ILSN: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Xxfruitcakexx:  Almost thirty and still dressing up. haha maybe. I see myself with my own family and I hope my children enjoy cosplay, anime, and videogames as much as I do. If not, i will support them in all they do and want to become.
ILSN: What is the most interesting experience you have ever had at a CON?
Xxfruitcakexx:  Every time I’m at a con there is always an interesting experience haha Especially when I am wearing one of my bigger less mobile cosplays it’s always an interesting experience. If I have a huge prop or wings, its interesting site watching me shimmy through crowds trying not to hit, but end up hitting, innocent bystanders. lol The experiences that I will never forget are when people come up to me and tell me that i have brought their favorite character o life. That always puts a smile on my face because I’ve put a smile on theirs.

ILSN: What do you do to inspire yourself?
Xxfruitcakexx:  There are many things that inspire me. The drive from myself to want to cosplay my favorite characters as well as the motivation from my friends and family. Also people who comment, good or bad, really motivate me to want to keep going. There are many things/people out there, not just in cosplay but everyday life, that want to prevent you or put you down. It’s finding the people who support you and love you that really drive you to do your best, of course in the end, your cosplaying for yourself and not for anyone else.
ILSN: What do you like to do for fun?
Xxfruitcakexx:  VIDEOGAMES! I grew up with videogames and will probably die with either a laptop on my lap or a controller in my hand haha I also enjoy singing and karaoke with friends. I was in choir since elementary and singing has always been a passion of mine.I also like to be outdoors and do stuff like hiking, fishing, and sports.
ILSN: What kind of music do you like?
Xxfruitcakexx:  All Kinds! Growing up I listened to country, rock, rap, pop, everything!! Iv learned to appreciate music not by the genre but by the beat, lyrics, and singing. I do dislike nicky minaj though… her rapping sounds like me at 8 yo when I tried to act cool to my cousins and pretended I could rap. lol

ILSN: What kind of nerd are you?
Xxfruitcakexx:  I guess i’m an all around nerd. lol I watch some anime, I play video games, I collect comics, I like movies and t.v. shows. I love what I love.

ILSN: Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Xxfruitcakexx:  I do have a storeenvy that is closed at the moment since I moved and will be moving again soon. I hope to open it again next year when I settle down.
ILSN: What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Xxfruitcakexx:  I literally almost forgot my name when I met some of my Cosplay Idols at cons. I become forgetful and cant remember how to hold a conversation when I meet people I admire. Oddly enough, a lot of the people I admire, and still admire, I’ve become really good friends with. Does that count as nerdy or just fan girling lol
ILSN: Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Xxfruitcakexx:  I’ve had it happen to me a few times when I lived in Las Vegas. Vegas anime community is not as big so many people know each other. I used to work at a mall on the strip and all my encounters happen there haha.

ILSN: What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
Xxfruitcakexx:  A figurine. A little girl gave it to me for being one of her favorite characters and I still have it. I really cherish it.

ILSN: What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
Xxfruitcakexx:  Hottest as in temperature or sexy? lol Temperature hot would have to be M.E.F.E. from black rock shooter. I have so much stuff on me and it wasn’t the most comfortable haha. The sexiest cosplay would have to be my Ame Comi cat woman costume. Its very revealing a leather haha
ILSN: Favorite food?
Xxfruitcakexx:  Spicy food! Seafood is also my all time favorite! I could eat seafood all day though I know it wouldn’t be healthy.

ILSN: Favorite Movies?
Xxfruitcakexx:  Beauty and the Beast, Ghost, Star Wars, and I like watching horror movies!

ILSN: Favorite Video Games?
Xxfruitcakexx:  OMG SO MANY!! Super Smash bro games, The Tales series, League of Legends, Final Fantasy Games, Resident Evil games… etc.

ILSN: Give me the links to the following.
facebook page
twitter page
youtube link. N/A

ILSN:  Also give me a bio, any videos, links you want me to promote such as up coming events.
Xxfruitcakexx:  I will be attending San Japan Con in San Antonio! That is my next convention where you can catch me at 😀

ILSN: Any final thoughts or words?

Xxfruitcakexx:  I encourage people to get into cosplay. Its a great experience and you learn so much about yourself and those around you. If not cosplay, loving to do something so much and having the passion is a great way to express yourself and no matter what anyone says, you love what you love and you do it for you.

NERD of the MONTH Kali Chung

1456598_466464913472908_555456976_n      Via Kali Chung “Cosplaying – They always say your first job leaves the biggest impression on you for your future jobs. My first job was working as a “mistress” at Medieval Times. I had to dress up in those RenFaire type of clothes and loved it. I was there for 6 months before transitioning to Disneyland working as Mulan (primarily) and other characters. At Disneyland I saw all the makeup and hair people and seamstresses work to create these beautiful costumes. That really ignited the flame for interest in character costumes. (I didn’t know it was called cosplay back then)

My very first cosplay that I did was Violet from The Incredibles. Then it was Ruena from Runes of Gallidon, an online fantasy world, Female 11th Doctor (Doctor Who), Lei Fang (Dead or Alive 5 DLC outfit), Tifa Lockhart (FFVII)… (working on my next one based on a video game character).

I’ve also been hired to cosplay various other characters for different events and shoots. That’s always fun!!! Sometimes it’s good to take a break from making and sewing and put on other people’s creative goods!

Videogaming – Love to play. RPG’s are my fave!

I wish to continue my journey in this industry and help out others along the way. My lifetime goal would be to make a living as an on-camera personality.

Very thankful for the friends I’ve met, life lessons learned, and great moments experienced. o^___^o”

ILSN:   First question. Do you have any nicknames?
Kali Chung:  I go by Kal…like Kal-El…I love Superman~!1897840_516294171823315_1460944349_n

ILSN: Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Kali Chung:  Mmmmm…5 things: Listener, Eater, Exercise Enthusiast, Otaku, Sensitive Soul

ILSN: What inspired you to get into the entertainment industry?
Kali Chung:  In college my major was Entertainment Art and that allowed me the opportunity to work for a 3D animation company. As I was there, I came across actors’ headshots for the project we were working on and thought, “What is this?” That started my “Hey! I can be an actor!”journey. Modeling opportunities came first and then acting jobs. After several years I grew interested in casting and that’s where I am now. Ideally, I would like to continue as a casting director, working alongside my mentor and friend.

ILSN:  Any words of advice for people trying to get into the industry?
Kali Chung:  “Don’t stop believing. Hold on to that feeling~” (I’m singing that if you can’t tell) But it’s true. Go into it because you want to. Stay in it because you love the craft. The money and bookings will not always come so on those days you must remember what is your foundation, what gives you hope to continue in your craft.

1526460_480567532062646_2011764504_nILSN:  I love your youtube page. Tell us a little bit about your page.
Kali Chung:  Really? OMG, thanks so much for watching my vids! Originally, I had started a YouTube page with various videos, but then I got a manager who guided me into branding it to World of Kali. So in WoK my videos cover conventions/cosplay, food, and various other journeys that I want to share with others – including my trip to Disney Sea in Tokyo, Japan!1528760_489560704496662_1844404667_n

ILSN:  How was life living in Japan? How would you compare the culture with the United States?
Kali Chung:  I have to say, I love your questions! Living in Japan…I never thought it was possible to fall in love with a country, but there I was…waking up to the sun’s reflection on the many business skyscrapers in Tokyo everyday. And every night I would fall asleep watching the same skyscrapers stand majestically in the darkness…and smile. I know, so corny!!! But the way of life is different. Homeless people don’t ask for handouts; they keep to themselves or they let you pet their many cats that they have. You never feel scared or threatened even when walking around at 2 am. No tips for services. Every employee gives you their very best service and if you tip them, they freak out. Bathrooms are clean and efficient. Public transportation is fast and easy to understand. Grocery stores have FREE water refill centers so that you can always have clean drinking water at home. Food tastes amazing without all these crazy GMO’s that American food have. The people are polite and if you are too, everyone gets along perfectly. I can go on and on and on… Oh yeah! FLOORS THAT HEAT UP!!!68496_4677967426735_1158819905_n

969476_477065692412830_1542839058_nILSN:  Cool cosplay costumes! What inspires you when you choose characters?
Kali Chung:  Thank you! Anything can inspire me. I’m pretty random (you’ll notice as you get to know me more) and am open to suggestions. However, I will say that I must feel a strong affinity for whomever I cosplay as…

ILSN:  What is the one cosplay outfit you are most proud of?
Kali Chung:  Ooh wow… that’s a hard one. Each one is special to me in its own way, but I would have to say my Violet from The Incredibles is the one I’m most proud of. I had a photo out there, but it got taken down when I disabled my old blog.

ILSN:  Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Kali Chung:  Why are you making this so difficult?!

1465408_469253156527417_782776763_nILSN:  What was your childhood like growing up?
Kali Chung:  Hard…and full of dreams for better places and people.

1402464_466470520139014_620233039_oILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Kali Chung:  5 years from now I would like to travel to more places, be stable in the world of casting/entertainment, and hopefully be more involved in helping others.10336858_10203047036392763_1057213334705247204_n

ILSN:  What kind of nerd are you?
Kali Chung:  The kind that still sees myself as an awkward 13 year old with braces and goofy laughter…

ILSN:  What’s shows are you watching right now?
Kali Chung:  Revenge, Resurrection, Castle, Arrow… Waiting for the new season of Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Downton Abbey.

ILSN:  Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Kali Chung:  No, but I want to promote Yogurtland!

ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Kali Chung:  Oh no…too many to list… I collected Marvel and Disney cards back in the 90’s and never told any of my friends, only my brother knew. We would go to the baseball card shop every week and use lunch money to buy cards and when we’d get home, we’d geek over the stats of Uatu, stare in awe at Captain Britain’s outfit, or talk excitedly about another Marvel all-out war that seemed to be going on.

ILSN:  Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Kali Chung:  Only at conventions! It’s the best feeling in the world and I enjoy meeting new people!1476073_467403640045702_1908735188_n

ILSN:  What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
Kali Chung:  A Barbie from the 80’s. Long story.

ILSN:  What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
Kali Chung:  Hahahahahahah!!! Ummmmm…Band Eeyore at Disneyland. Reason being, when I was dressed like him, I’d be the band conductor and flail my arms around energetically. That got hot fast.1499449_10152153800965883_443342732_n

ILSN:  Any advice to new cosplayers out there?
Kali Chung:  There are tons of videos and communities out there who will be there to encourage and support your creativity so just go and create your costume! First time is always the scariest and most exciting!

ILSN:  Favorite food?
Kali Chung:  Mirugai sushi

ILSN:  Favorite Movies?
Kali Chung:  I appreciate all movies that I watch and there’s always something special about each of them.

ILSN:  Favorite Video Games?
Kali Chung:  Okami, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Legends 1 & 2, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja, and Naruto: The Broken Bond.540024_10101662044621111_555445310_n

Thank you so much for the interview! This was totally fun and I’m very happy that you asked me to be your Nerd of the Month!

NERD of the MONTH Mila De

This months NERD of the month is MILA DE!  She is a model from Las Vegas NV and represents the TMNT van!  She was nice enough to do a quick interview at the Long Beach Comiccon last year.

ILSN: Tell us a little bit about yourself. Do you have a mini bio about yourself?

Mila De:  My name is Mila De, I’m short. Born in Fayetteville, NC, raised in Highlands Ranch, CO and Castle Rock, CO, and now a resident in Los Angeles, CA! Graduated high school in Roseville, CA then moved to Las Vegas, NV. The oldest of four brothers and one sister. Raised by my mother who is a former model and actress, and stepfather who is a chef. I love food, mainly sweets! I have a toy yorkie named Miko, my friends like to call him Megatron because I call him Makoto, they think that’s what it sounds like. I have been modeling since 2008, have had features in music videos, small acting roles in television shows and movies, and in my spare time practices playing the guitar, ukulele, and/or piano.

2014-04-02 14.32.14

ILSN:  What is the craziest story you could tell us?

Mila De:   Hm .. I think I have too many of those, pretty inappropriate to share LOL! I slept through two earthquakes and woke up to my friends from Las Vegas and Roseville blowing up my phone asking if I’m okay. I don’t think that’s too crazy, but yeeeahh … my craziest story are not very appropriate he-he-he!

ILSN:  Do you have any projects coming up?

Mila De:   I do, but I was told to keep it a secret.. But another project is my outfit for Extreme Autofest Anaheim, which my good friend and designer JRock Ginger is helping me design, I’m so excited!

ILSN:  How do you feel representing the Ninja Turtle Van?

Mila De:   I love representing the TMNT Van! Especially since one of my good friends’ is the owner, we always have fun anywhere we go with the TMNT Van.
It’s pretty awesome meeting people and families at shows and conventions who grew up to TMNT. I’m always in awe when I see families dress up as each character .. parents passing on something from their childhood to their children of this new generation.
The TMNT Van has become even more awesome because now there are REAL Ninja Turtles too!

ILSN:  What is the most interesting experience you had hanging out with them?

Mila De:   The most interesting experience I had with the TMNT Van .. has to be when I first saw the van at Hot Import Nights Pomona in March 2012 and met the owner. I was super stoked and nervous because it was the real deal right in front of me. When I met the owner of the van, Jason, a mutual friend of ours wanted to take pictures of me with the van, then Jason offered if I wanted to take a picture inside the van with the Michelangelo display — of course I said yes, hah. Another model and I got in the van and all the photographers started shooting. The other model grabbed Mikey’s head so she can kiss him and she basically pulled his head off. We just went with it continuing to take pictures as we made faces and Jason putting Mikey’s head back together.IMG_46318306723155

ILSN:  Who is your favorite Ninja Turtle?

Mila De:   My favorite Ninja Turtle has always been Michelangelo, because of his high energy and goofiness.img_1537

ILSN:  How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?

Mila De:   My photographer got me into cosplay! When my photographer saw me dressed up in my TMNT outfit at Long Beach Comic Con he said, “I have and idea for a shoot and I want you to do it.”  I looked at him and said, “Dude, I am so down!” And that’s how I got into cosplay 🙂

i-ffRGB6C-X2ILSN:  What inspires you when you choose characters?

Mila De:   I guess I get my inspiration from my childhood … all the cartoons and anime I used to watch, hah!IMG_79967692456489

ILSN:  Marvel vs DC vs Anime?

Mila De:   Ah crap! That’s a tough one -.-;
I love Marvel! I love Batman and Superman! I love Anime!

ILSN:  What was your childhood like growing up?

Mila De:   As a kid, my mom and I moved around a lot. My mom is my best friend, she knew I loved Sailor Moon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Power Rangers .. when she could, she would buy me something of the three. 🙂IMG_5722536358187

ILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Mila De:   In five years, I predict I would have done majority of the things I want to do and working hard to make my dreams come true, be done with school, and most likely be traveling and doing humanitarian work, and speaking 7 languages by then.

IMG_5654296673130ILSN:  What do you do to inspire yourself?

Mila De:  I find my inspiration through my Sidekick, he’s my guardian angel.
He always believed in me, he’d say, “make it happen!” And to take it one day at a time, and take care of one thing at a time.

ILSN:  What do you like to do for fun?

Mila De:   I’m not much of a crazy party animal like I was when I was living in Las Vegas, but I still party and enjoy hanging out and goofing off with my friends. I enjoy the outdoors — going to the beach, hiking, going on random adventures and getting lost with my best friends, riding motorcycles. Playing on my PS3, Wii, or N64, or my roommate’s Xbox360. Even though I’m horrible at it right now I like playing either my ukulele, my acoustic, or piano, and singing. I almost forgot dancing in the rain, literally! Work is fun … sometimes, haha!received_m_mid_1392427867809_78537ce96d1e6b3f14_0

ILSN:  What kind of music do you like?

Mila De:   My top favorite genres of music is Rock/Emo/Acoustic, then EDM, then Pop, then Hip Hop/R&B.
I really listen to almost everything, I mean that.

ILSN:  What kind of nerd are you?

Mila De:   Hm.. I don’t even know how to answer that.
I have a about 50+ comic books on my book shelves with a bunch of paranormal, fantasy, romance, adult books from my favorite author. I have a lot of TMNT, Batman, and Adventure Time stuff at home. I curse at like a sailor when playing COD, playing Street Fighter IV on my PS3 or Wii as well as Super Smash Bros. Brawl with or without my friends. When I play Pokemon Puzzle on my N64 and I lose to Mewtwo it actually ruins my day until I beat him. Yeah .. I feel like I just told my life story LOL!IMG_5722536358187IMG_2996

ILSN:  Is there anything you are promoting right now?

Mila De:   I will be attending Long Beach Comic Expo and I am actually promoting for Extreme Autofest Anaheim at Angel Stadium both events on May 31st!

ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?

Mila De:   Beaten my hard core gamer friends at the games they’re good at. I forget which X-Men movie it was, but my friends’ and I got into argument about a few of the characters and I went off naming almost each character and their powers/skills. Try to imitate character voices when I watch cartoons. I don’t know ..

ILSN:  Do people ever recognize you when you go out?

Mila De:   It’s happened a few times.

IMG_2986ILSN:  What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?

Mila De:   One of my fans bought me a Hello Kitty Necklace twice!

ILSN:  What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?

Mila De:   Hottest costume .. I guess it has to be the TMNT outfit.

ILSN:  Favorite Food?

Mila De:   That’s tough… I have a lot of favorites. All Asian foods for sure, sushi and noodles the most. Uh .. burgers, wings, salads, annd sweets.

ILSN:  Favorite Movies?

Mila De:   Too many favorite movies to name, I want to say both Despicable Me movies, Moulin Rouge, A Walk To Remember, Kung Fu Panda, Flash Point, Super Troopers, The Great Gatsby .. yeah, I have a lot movie favorites it’s hard to choose.IMG_2989

ILSN:  Favorite Video Games?

Mila De:   Pokémon Puzzle League on N64! Call Of Duty, Mario Kart N64 and Wii, Super Smash Bros N64 and Wii.

New NERD of the MONTH Gwendolynne Gee!

ILSN:  First question.  Do you have any nicknames? FU5249Rlg

Gwendolynne Gee:  Well I do have a very long name, and with that being said growing up people loved to give me tons of different names. My family and close friends has made a game of how many nicknames you can get out of it. With that all said and done though, my main nicknames would be Gwen, or Gwennie

ILSN:  I see you grew up in Alaska.  What were some fun things to do living out there?

Gwendolynne Gee:   Oh how I miss Alaska! There is a lot to do out there, you just have to not be lazy. There is snow machining, mudding, snowboarding, but my favorite thing to do is just layout on the canoe with my best friend and float down the Chena River.

ILSN:  What is your dream ride?

Gwendolynne Gee:   Mine would have to be a CRX, Tiffany blue with white highlights, and a hello kitty stencil on the side!

ILSN:   Cool cosplay costumes!  What inspires you when you choose characters?

Aby Vee aka Bad Aby Nerd of the Month

599921_377014152357124_1439296019_nThis months NERD of the MONTH is Aby Vee Aka Bad Abby.  She is a model and a professional designer.  She is the inventor and designer of the “Shark Bite Monokini” aka The Sharkini.  Check out her interview.
ILSN :  Tell us a little bit about yourself?  What is your background in fashion designing?

Bad Aby:  I am a FIDM sf alum 2010. I started making prom dresses when i was in high school (starting with my own) and ever since then i was destined to push my design limits and cultivate my talent. I’ve always been kind of the weird kid that can’t really take myself seriously, probably really misunderstood but i kind of liked it that way. I think my fashion really reflects that.
ILSN:  Tell us about your website? ?
Bad Aby: is really just a place you can see my latest projects, link to my social media and stores and also get a feel for what my brand is all about. If you get ME, then you definitely get my brand.
ILSN:  When you designed the “Shark Bite Monokini” aka Sharkini what was your inspiration?
Bad Aby:  Well sharks duh. i was designing a few custom pieces for a friends shark week party, and after several sketches, the “Shark bite Monokini” was just born. I didn’t really think too much about it, except that i thought it was really cool that it looked like a shark, but as usual, i thought i was the only one to see its awesomeness. i was def wrong lol.

ILSN: Which TV shows have your outfits been featured on?

Bad Aby  I can’t even remember all of them, its been on CNN, WGM, Good Morning America, The Kelly and Michael show, just to name a few.
ILSN: How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?
IBad Aby  I had made a custom costume of Chun li for a friend of mine for Halloween one year, and her friend who i think was in marketing for Namco Bandai games saw it and was so impressed that they got in contact with me through my friend and then i was doing all the cosplays for Namco’s TEkken 6. That project was super challenging but sooo much fun!
ILSN: What inspires you when you choose characters?
Bad Aby:  Honestly, the more intricate the costumes the more it excites me.

ILSN: Marvel vs DC vs Anime?

Bad Aby:  MARVEL all the way. i guess im just an old fashion girl like that.

ILSN: What was your childhood like growing up?

Bad Aby  I want to say normal, but i was a tomboy mixed with a hyper energetic imagination, i got in trouble a lot of playing in places i shouldn’t and hitting boys lol. I had a twin sis and a lil bro to cause havoc with, and it was always interesting when our imaginations came together.

66486_559296984128839_2018287769_nILSN: Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Bad Aby:  I dream of launching my brand and really taking it as far as i can go. making B.A.D a household name.

ILSN: What do you do to inspire yourself?

Bad Aby:  I relax. when i don’t have a billion things to think about, that’s when i have the best and randomness ideas come to me. i also travel, the world is so inspiring, its absolutely necessary to see the world.

ILSN: What do you like to do for fun?

Bad Aby:  I like to dance, work out, play outside, shop at IKEA, try new food, and travel.

NERD of the MONTH Karen Sakai

Do you have a mini bio about yourself?
My name is Karen Sakai. I’m a part-time model & cosplayer. I’m also a co-host on the world famous podcast, Alpha Nerds. My real job is a primatologist/anthropologist. I study the culture of pongids (the great apes) & I have communicated via ASL with chimpanzees. The facility was shut down because many people thought it was unethical to take an endangered species and cross-foster them with a entirely different species (us). For now, I am just decoding data from past communication as a post-bach and I’m working toward either becoming a Naval officer or a Ph.D student in primatology.1521672_746341178727976_1868449052_n

I see you were a Military Police in the Navy.  What is the craziest story you could tell us?
I remember when a captain (O6) was high off heroine and beat a young sailor with a Mag light until she passed out. I also saw much trafficking in the USA. Human organs were used in the black market for surgery as well as consumption. That was quite odd to see.1901400_781303138565113_621993396_n
What is your weapon of choice?
If this is referring to the Navy, I really enjoyed using the M-16 rifle.
Q:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m half Caucasian (Irish, German) and half Japanese. I have D34 implants, and a white girl booty (haha). I’m highly educated, but I also have a great sense of humor. I hope to become successful in modeling and I hope to be discovered and make that a career. I know many famous models will get cocky in the long run & lose their kind personalities, but I know for a fact that no matter how popular I get, I want my fans to know that I’m approachable and friendly. I want to be be a leader that not all models are full of themselves and that they know their popularity relies on their fans. At this point, I have very low-self esteem due to being bullied and segregated in the past (mainly for being a “Eurasian”) and hearing wonderful compliments really help me. So I guess I want to thank each & every person for helping me with my confidence. 603650_781147081914052_2071377552_n
Tell us about your website? ?
I have a few websites such as my Facebook fan page, Twitter, Instagram, Twitch.TV, Miss Playboy Social, and I currently just applied to be on Suicide Girls and Model Mayhem. I do have a site where people can buy my photos which is I hope to earn some income there so I can improve my cosplaying/modeling and develop a wonderful portfolio. Like I mentioned, my popularity depends on my fans and that means I need happy fans!! (:1958441_780723391956421_1587701327_n

How did you get into doing cosplay costumes?

Funny story! I was always into cosplaying but when I started to do it which was around the end of 1999-2000, females that were into nerdy/geeky/game-like stuff was not acceptable. I was bullied and picked on for being a “tom-boy” and being a nerd. Because of that, it shut me down to want to cosplay and I also kept my love of comics, games, table-top games, larping, a secret. Now that every other female is into that, I feel like it’s safe to start back up. Sadly, I feel like I started to late and although I might have been one of the first American females to be into cosplaying, I let the bullying and self-deappreciation get to me.
What inspires you when you choose characters?
I always had a heart for characters that were under appreciated it. I feel like those characters represented myself growing up. My first cosplay was Weevil Underwood (Insector Haga) from Yu-Gi-Oh! He was sassy, confident, & under appreciated, thus, I felt a close connection to him. Another character that I really liked is Malon from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. She was a innocent girl that loved animals which is something I love as well: animals. I couldn’t not cosplay as Malon because I did not have the resources nor knowledge or money to create her outfit and style. I hope to on day cosplay as her and even use live horses as a prop.1964987_777764058919021_1225821946_n
Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
I like all three, but my favorite would have to be Marvel. Probably because I was exposed to Marvel the most. I really liked the character Wolverine because he had lots of self-confidence as well as a love for Japan. He even had children that were half Japanese, again, something that related to me. (:
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
I hope to become more popular with the modeling/cosplaying thing. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll probably be in school working on my thesis for my Ph.D. That, or a Naval officer. Ha ha.
What do you do to inspire yourself?
Things that inspire me are my pets, video games, comics, and friends. Oh and of course the podcast. I meet great folks from guests on the podcasts and when I add them on their personal Facebook, I realize what nice people they are. They give me tips on better cosplay as well as motivation to keep up my modeling.
What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy everyday girly things like shopping, makeup, reading comic books and past anthropological works or ethnographies. I also enjoy gardening and cooking. What I recently discovered is yoga & pilates!! It’s so much fun and relaxing and it’s great for your body!!!
What kind of music do you like?
I like all music. But my favorite would have to be power metal and R&B.
What kind of nerd are you?
I like everything. But my favorite “nerdy” thing is video games.
Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Since I’m new and not really “out there” I’m just promoting my Store Envy site so fans can purchase some photos. That will bring in some income which will help me purchase more outfits and what not. I have a Amazon wishlist, but no one has gotten me anything yet, ha ha.
What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
I used to larp Warcraft when I was in elementary school. It felt really great. During that time, I lived in an abusive broken home, but larping was a way for me to be someone else, someone that I wanted to be, either a prince or a princess *cough cough Arthas Menethil / Princess Zelda*
Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
I wish, but I’m not that popular yet.
What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
The craziest gift I ever received was a donation of 50$. The guy didn’t even know me & was watching me play League of Legends and I received an e-mail saying he donated 50 bucks to me. I tried hard not to cry because I was streaming live, but I did tear and ruin some of my makeup. Ha ha.
What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
The hottest costume I ever wore was my birthday suit!!!
Favorite food?
My favorite food is Thai!!
Next is Japanese food, because that’s comfort food for me. (=
Favorite Movies?
My favorite movies are chick flicks haha. I really enjoyed Jurassic Park (not a chick flick, LOL), the Notebook, & Sleepy Hallow. Ha ha. Oh and of course all Disney movies. =p
Favorite Video Games?
Hands down, all Zelda games and all Harvest Moons. But anything that’s an RPG I love.
Give me the links to the following.
Probably my Store Envy :

Any final thoughts or words?

Yes, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to answer these questions. I feel honored & warm-hearted that you gave me this chance to get myself out there. People like you give models the chance to get themselves noticed and without people like you, I would be no where. Thank you once again. Or should I say, どもありがとうございます。本当にありがとう。
Thanks a million
No, thank YOU for giving me the chance to answer these. I hope I answered everything correctly, & please let me know if you need anything else,
Karen Sakai

Rian Synnth Nerd of the Month

The 2014 NERD of the month is Rian Synnth.  She is from So Cal and likes to go to cons in So Cal.  She was nice enough to do a Q and A with us.

ILSN:  First question.  How did you get the name Rian Synnth?

Rian Synnth: When my mom was pregnant with me they thought I may be a boy, and if I was I was going to be named Ryan. I actually really loved the babe, but I wanted to spell it differently, more feminine I guess, so I guess that’s when Rian came to be. As for Synnth, she was actually one of my characters on World of Warcraft lol1375648_495796197185124_873285078_n

ILSN:Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Rian Synnth: Well as you probably know I’m a huge nerd, I particularly love gaming. I’m also a dancer, and have been doing color guard competitively for many years now.

2013-11-03 04.15.52ILSN:  Cool cosplay costumes!  What inspires you when you choose characters?

Rian Synnth: Thank you! Many things give me inspiration, but mostly characters I relate to a lot.944852_528972167200860_1803888531_n

ILSN:  What is the one cosplay outfit you are most proud of?

Rian Synnth: That’s a hard one, I guess I want to say Russell! Russell didn’t get a lot of popularity with the con, but I love that particular cosplay because almost every part of it was hand made and that is the one I put the most craftsmanship into.

8294_506591549438922_861094543_nILSN:  Marvel vs DC vs Anime?

Rian Synnth: Marvel! Though I have been getting a lot more into DC as of lately.2013-11-03 04.15.55

ILSN:  What was your childhood like growing up?

Rian Synnth: I was raised by my two brothers basically. My two NERDY brothers. I have no sisters, and my mom had to work all the time. From the get go I was surrounded by games, all the time. Pokemon cards, SNES, N64, and so much more. Both my brothers and my dad all game so it wasn’t shocking when I started to as well. My brothers definitely have shaped me into the nerd I am today.

2013-11-03 04.16.05ILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Rian Synnth: Hopefully either finished with school or finishing up, I’m not sure what I want to go to school for yet so I guess this gives me time to figure it out. I definitely still want to be dancing and cosplaying that’s for sure!2013-11-03 04.16.38

ILSN:  What do you do to inspire yourself?

Rian Synnth: I definitely find my inspiration in the wildest of places, a whole lot of Disney movies and Disneyland. Lots of video games lately though.2013-11-03 04.16.14

ILSN:  What do you like to do for fun?

Rian Synnth: When I do find time between work and rehearsal, I game!

ILSN:  What kind of music do you like?

Rian Synnth: I can honestly say I like almost every genre of music, I especially enjoy classic rock and emo, and prog metal.

2013-11-03 04.16.20ILSN:  What kind of nerd are you?

Rian Synnth: Gamer girl! More than anything else.

ILSN:  Is there anything you are promoting right now?

Rian Synnth: I’m just promoting myself and trying to gain some traction on my page! I am also going to be in a web series on YouTube called Young Justice: Abduction where I will be playing Zatanna.

ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?

Rian Synnth:  LAN parties… Lots and lots and LOTS of LAN parties. My boyfriend and I would set up with our neighbors in their garage like every week and set up laptops and monitors and xboxs anywhere there was space. Did I mention we didn’t sleep for like, days? Lol

2013-11-03 04.15.15ILSN:  Do people ever recognize you when you go out?

Rian Synnth: Actually the first time that has happened was Comikaze this year! People recognized me out of costume and it was really awesome!

ILSN:  What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?

Rian Synnth: I wish I could say my fans have sent me love mail! But sadly I have not received any fan mail 😦

ILSN:  What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?

Rian Synnth: Zatanna has definitely been my most revealing cosplay to date!

ILSN:  Favorite food?

Rian Synnth: Sushi, and not just because I’m Asian 😉

1375780_490067397758004_1861279080_nILSN:   Any advice to new cosplayers out there?

Rian Synnth: Start simple and work your way up, I have definitely been guilty of buying off more than I can chew. Have fun! That is definitely the most important part.

1378684_490066864424724_1248657888_nFavorite Movies?

Rian Synnth: The Little Mermaids is my all time favorite movie ever!1382023_490067147758029_218061813_n

Nerd of the Month Yuks General!

ILSN Nerd of the month is Yuks General Cosplay.    She is new to the cosplay scene and a advid gamer.

IloveSEXYnerds:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Yuks:  I got into cosplay since Anime Expo 2013, and after a short while I started working on armor building. I mainly work with thermoplastic, leather, Acrylic sheets, PVC, gesso, metal, etc. Plus I love adding EL or LED lights on my project! I don’t usually use foam or craft foam because I cant sand it (I am a primer and sanding freak…). I learned everything from Google and friends. I am also a part of the Compulsive Cosplay.  Cosplay and prop making are fantastic. I am willing and ready to devote myself to them under any cost.1378675_361253674008837_1643425488_n

IloveSEXYnerds:  I got into cosplay since Anime Expo 2013, and after a short while I started working on armor building. I mainly work with thermoplastic, leather, Acrylic sheets, PVC, gesso, metal, etc. Plus I love adding EL or LED lights on my project! I dont usually use foam or craftfoam because I cant sand it (I am a primer and sanding freak…). I learnt everything from google and friends. I am also a part of the Compulsive Cosplay.Any final thoughts or words?1393345_364088577058680_1848179264_n

Thank you so much for this opportunity, I have a few projects coming out soon, so be prepared for the incredible craftsmanship and MAYBE sexy photos as well XD.

Nerd of the Month Sachie

Hey! Thanks for the feature.
Q:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Sachie! I’m a cosplayer, vlogger, and future cat lady from Toronto, Canada. I’m really into anime, manga, and gaming. I love drawing and working on creative projects!555317_322369177818860_1817492732_n

What kind of nerd are you?

The otaku kind? Hahah!ilovegamers4

Tell us about your youtube page?I have a youtube channel called  I basically just vlog about exciting things that are happening in my life, videos about my cosplay progress, recommendations for anime/manga, and occasionally reviews!

206155_368809473174830_499524207_nWhat are your inspirations when you post videos?
Other youtubers really inspire me to make more content – when I see other people making cool videos, I feel the urge to make my own!

392492_322245947831183_1632867733_nAt what point did you feel you could be a professional youtuber?
I’d love to be able to make views as a full time job! I feel like in order to become a full-time content creator, you need to be able to produce high quality content/videos, as well as growing a fan base who is interested in what you do!

1200_500662356656207_421683308_nHow much time do you spend on an average cosplay outfit?
It depends on what parts of the costume I am making, how many props/complexity of the overall outfit. But overall, many, man hours haha.

Marvel vs DC?
I feel ashamed for saying this but I don’t really know! I haven’t really delved into the world of comics very much… ;_; I’m more of an anime/manga person!
What was your childhood like growing up?
Really good! But really deprived of geeky stuff. My parents aren’t really fans of geek culture, so I never had much of that stuff growing up, I had to discover it all on my own. Luckily my best friend in elementary school was also into anime/manga, so we spent a lot of time researching and finding new geeky things to explore!
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Graduating university, hopefully working at a job I really enjoy! Fingers crossed it has something to do with media/content creation, since that’s what I’m majoring in.
What do you do to inspire yourself?
Listen to music, watch other youtubers, or draw!
What do you like to do for fun?
Hang out with friends, go to concerts/art events, draw/paint, and of course make videos!
What kind of music do you like?
I love lots of different genres! Very much into electronic, indie, kpop/jpop, and pop.
Is there anything you are promoting right now?
I’ve currently got a show on Geek and Sundry where I talk about all things related to cosplay!

315039_237883776267401_540471066_nWhat is the nerdiest thing you have done?

I’m pretty sure cosplaying is one of the nerdiest things I do… I mean, what could be nerdier than dressing up as a fictional comic/anime/gaming character at comiccon? Haha!

Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
I’ve been recognized at university a couple of times, as well as at comic cons. I’ve also been recognized twice while shopping in downtown Toronto! It’s insane because I don’t even consider myself to be that popular. It’s a lovely feeling when somebody approaches you on the street saying they like your cosplays / videos though!
What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
Hm… There’s one person who keeps writing and sending marriage proposals to my PO box haha….. Other than that, one girl painted a picture of me on canvas! It’s lovely!1381472_562824357106673_296688466_n
What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
I don’t really do too many ‘sexy’ costumes, but I did cosplay as Black Gold Saw at Anime North / Fan Expo a while back! Black leather jackets, bikinis, horns, giant weapons… Y’know, the works.16584_524997837555992_622180612_n

Favorite food?

Korean bbq!! *drools*

Favorite Movies?
Recently watched Monster’s University, definitely one of the cutest videos I’ve seen. Other than that, almost all movies by Studio Ghibli are my favourites! Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro…etc!
Favorite Video Games?
Team Fortress 2, Professor Layton series and Fire Emblem!

IloveSEXYnerds NERD of the MONTH Aja Dang

972085_556657197704571_898837820_nOctobers Nerd of the month is Aja Dang.  She is a cosplayer, Maxim Model, spokes person and an environmental advocate!   Check out her Youtube Channel at

ILoveSEXYnerds Q:  Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Aja Dang:  I’m a TV personality, model, actress, spokeswoman, and environmental advocate with a passion for sports and geek culture. I have more than eight years of on-camera experience and a Masters Degree in Broadcast Journalism from USC. I currently have a show with Maxim Magazine called 1 on 1 Sports where I interview professional athletes and they teach me something active within their sport. I’ve played basketball with Shaq, raced against Danica Patrick, learned some combos with Robert Guerrero and lifted with Lou Ferrigno. I also have a Youtube channel (link please) where I vlog, and upload skits and music video parodies. My Blurred Lines parody is constantly named as one of the best parodies. Besides Maxim I’ve worked with FX NetworksClevver MoviesComcast SportsNet Bay Area and Xbox LIVE.969948_551834101520214_595590279_n603901_577922478911376_1505572461_n

ILoveSEXYnerds Q:
Tell us about your website? ?

Aja Dang:   Is this my or my Youtube channel? My Youtube channel I started in 2012 and started my Ask Aja segments where viewers can write in and ask me questions about relationships, life and sex and I’d answer them. I’ve since started doing skits and music video parodies and plan on doing more of the latter. I find skits and parodies more engaging.
935065_551938454843112_428876184_nILoveSEXYnerds Q:   What do you miss about living in Hawaii?
Aja Dang:   I miss being with my family and living an active life outdoors. In LA it takes so long to drive to the beach or a hike. In Hawaii my background was Manoa Falls so it’s more difficult for me doing activities outside in LA.
1000341_563447877025503_627077997_n1001477_548228895214068_1644224418_nILoveSEXYnerds Q:
Cool cosplay costumes!  What inspires you when you choose characters?

Aja Dang:   I like choosing characters that aren’t mainstream. This year, my Psylocke costume was a topic of concern for Maxim because they didn’t think anyone would know who she was – I knew better though 😉 My costumes have become so popular I’m developing a Youtube series around my cosplay characters. 1011967_548229121880712_190840426_n

ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   Marvel vs DC?

Aja Dang:   I’m neutral – I like specific characters within the different universes so I don’t prefer one over the other. 1075301_553844061319218_1396056320_n
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   What was your childhood like growing up?
Aja Dang:   It was great. Very family oriented and spent a lot of time hanging out outside either playing sports, at the park or at the beach. Lots of big family dinners every week, that is definitely something I miss being away from my family.
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   Where do you see yourself five years from now?A_pMAzHCMAEAOy2
Aja Dang:   I see myself having a popular travel show and then becoming a brand name when I launch my travel accessories line and travel books.
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   What do you do to inspire yourself?
Aja Dang:   I have a list of the Top 10 I wish to accomplish in my life – I look at it every day.
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   What do you like to do for fun?
Aja Dang:   I like going on hikes and going out to eat! I’m also learning Jiu Jitsu right now from my friends the Gracie family so hopefully I can get my first belt in the next couple months. I also LOVE to travel, so if I have a couple days, I’ll leave LA.
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   What kind of music do you like?
Aja Dang:   I like RnB and Neo-Soul
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   What kind of nerd are you?
Aja Dang:   I’m a very unassuming nerd. It shocks people when I start talking about Guardians of the Galaxy, like they don’t expect a hot chick to know her shit.
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   Is there anything you are promoting right now?
Aja Dang:   I’m promoting my show on and Xbox Live (Maxim has an app so be sure to subscribe!) And of course my Youtube channel, where I upload one a week.
ILoveSEXYnerds Q:   What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Aja Dang:   I think cosplay is pretty nerdy but it’s even nerdier when you do it outside of conventions, in real life. I tend to put myself in situation where I can throw on my costumes lol.51TPZQDuXBL

Aja Dang:   On occasion. I usually get recognized at home in Hawaii but I was just recognized at a baseball game, which was fun. Mostly they know me from my Youtube channel and Instagram page.

IloveSEXYnerds NERD of the MONTH Ani-Mia

PTBACWLlgBio: I started modeling in 2001 and began getting involved with cosplay in 2008. Since then, I have been working to put together a varied cosplay portfolio. I consider myself a well rounded individual who takes pride in my intelligence, creativity and cosplay.
I have now had the opportunity to travel to conventions across the country, judge numerous costume contest, appear in both online and print magazines and meet tons of amazing people both industry and fans! The one thing I really want to help do is bring the cosplay community together as a whole and have run a panel on this exact topic.

Ani-Mia:  I’ve been a cosplayer for over 5 years now, though I started modeling back in 2001. I’m a huge geek who loves movies (especially sci-fi and horror movies), anime, comic books, fantasy novels and video games (mainly RPGs). I’m a big goof ball and love to quote movies all the time.

NW Cosplay

ILSN:  Tell us about your website?

Ani-Mia:   I’m currently working on a website that will highlight my cosplaying and modeling but currently use my Facebook page to display my pictures, post funny pictures and memes I find throughout the day and communicate with my fans.179291_559044414116557_956706743_n

ILSN:  why are your outfits so awesome and who inspired you for your style?

Ani-Mia:   Ha ha, thanks for the compliment. My outfits weren’t always ‘awesome’ and my first cosplay was actually a hot mess. It’s always a learning experience when I create my costumes because I try to push myself to try new techniques will all of my costumes and when something comes together, I am so happy. I try to always stick to the original costumes as much as possible but I also try to make them something that you could actually see in real life.

ILSN:  Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Ani-Mia:   Five years from now, I hope to be able to take this from a full-time hobby to something that I can do all the time. Though I have a full-time desk job that I go to every day, cosplaying is what truly makes me happy. So hopefully, I will be able to travel to more conventions and really contribute to the cosplay and convention communities.

ILSN:  What do you like to do for fun?

Ani-Mia:   For fun I work on my cosplays, but I like to relax by watching movies and my favorite tv shows. I also play video games whenever I get the chance though I don’t do it as much since I tend to get really absorbed into RPGs and can lose a lot of time to them.

ILSN:  What kind of music do you like?

Ani-Mia:   I like anything but country but I tend to like Trip-Hop like Portishead or classical instruments with bass like Lindsey Stirling.

ILSN:  What kind of nerd are you?

Ani-Mia:   I’m a little bit of everything. I like comics, horror movies, sci-fi shoes, anime, video games and love to collect toys (especially Funko Pops)

Elysium Entertainment

ILSN:  Is there anything you are promoting right now?

Ani-Mia:   Right now I’m an active Crunchyroll Ambassador which I love to promote because that’s where I go to watch all of my anime since they offer simulcasts from Japan.

ILSN:  What is the nerdiest thing you have done?62769_570003096354022_2123882902_n

IAni-Mia:   Pretty much hyperventilated when I met Richard and Wendy Pini who are the creators of the first comic book series I’ve ever read, Elfquest. Someone in line saw me and handed me a bunch of old prints from them and said, “I want you to have these because I think you would appreciate them even more than I would.” I was in shock as they just walked away. And then I cried. haha

Ron Gejon Photography

ILSN:  Do people ever recognize you when you go out?

Ani-Mia:   Sometimes. When I am around cons I get recognized and I was recognized once at my favorite geek bar but for the most part, I feel like I’m like Clark Kent in my regular life…no one knows my secret identity.

ILSN:  What is the craziest gift anybody has ever given you?969965_607976669223331_64591224_n

Ani-Mia:   I’ve never really gotten a crazy gift. I’ve gotten some amazing gifts but nothing really crazy. I’m still amazed when I get gifts and am usually in shock at the absolute kindness of people. It makes me feel good and I always try to pay it forward.

ILSN:  What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?999696_626345490719782_1559669993_n

Ani-Mia:    So far, I’d have to say my Zatanna. I try not to always do sexy costumes because I don’t want to be known for just doing sexy cosplay. That was the first time where I really pushed ‘the girls’ out there and apparently it turned out really well. I even got John Barrowman’s attention. ha ha ha

ILSN:  What is the sexiest thing you have ever done?

Ani-Mia:   I plead the fifth.557281_624885107532487_668902728_n

ILSN:  Favorite Movies?

Ani-Mia:   All time favorite movie is Boondock Saints. Second favorite is The Fifth Element.

Ash B Images

ILSN:  Favorite Video Games?

Ani-Mia:   Anything by Square, especially the Final Fantasy series and Metal Gear Solid but I also love games by Bethesda like Oblivion and Skyrim.
