ILSN: What is the craziest story you could tell us?
Candace Kita: One of the craziest stories that recently happened to me occurred last week. I had to go to Punta de Mita, Mexico for a job and spent the entire week working with a person who ended up being on the FBI’s Most Wanted List. He was #3. Our flight back to LAX was stopped by the FBI and he was apprehended on the plane. Ironically, I still think he is a nice, charming and extremely efficient person. After spending a week with him, we were all sad to see him go.
ILSN: Do you have any projects coming up?
Candace Kita: Yes, I just shot a rom-com for Australia called “The Love Addict”. It is a romantic, light-hearted comedy about a man who can’t stop falling in love.
ILSN: One of my favorite shows growing up was kamen rider (masked rider) . Tell us your experience being on that show.
Candace Kita: I had the pleasure of being on Masked Rider for over 2 years. We shot 3 seasons and 40 episodes and some of my best friends have come from this show. In fact, AJ, who played Albee, is now a rap musician and I’ll be seeing him next Tuesday at a television interview. And I saw David, who played Hal, last week for Chinese food.
ILSN: Tell us about your website?
Candace Kita: Haha, thank you for asking about my website. My website, http://www.candacekita.com is in the process of being overhauled, so I’m very excited about the way it will look soon. My other website, http://www.hottiehandbook.com gives quick and easy safety tips to women on subjects such as travel safety, campus life, internet safety, dating, getting your first apartment, among others.
ILSN: Marvel vs DC vs Anime?
Candace Kita: Marvel! I was in a Marvel comic book for Masked Rider and was happy they even drew in my mole that I have on my face!
ILSN: What was your childhood like growing up?
Candace Kita: I had a great childhood in that I was exposed to many different cultures in a short amount of time. I grew up in London, Antwerp, and Texas. So I experienced city life and also country. I remember eating peanut butter, bacon and watercress sandwiches at Harrod’s each week for tea and also threw cow patties in the fields behind my house in Texas. It was the best of both worlds.
ILSN: Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Candace Kita: Still pursuing my dreams and still hard at work.
ILSN: What do you do to inspire yourself?
Candace Kita: Good question. A friend of mine said no matter how hard you work, you have to put a prize somewhere in the package for yourself. Meaning, put something in the future that you are always looking forward to. Whether it be going to a museum exhibit you have read about, going on a small trip out of town or ordering a great book on Amazon, these small things inspire and excite you about life. You always have to have something to get excited over. It is important and even the small things count.
ILSN: What do you like to do for fun?
Candace Kita: Reading, catching up with friends and an occasional nap isn’t bad either.
ILSN: What kind of music do you like?
Candace Kita: Amy Winehouse, 1940’s torch singing, The Punch Brothers

Candace Kita: . I’m the quintessential Asian nerd. I have learned a long time ago to embrace it.
ILSN: is there anything you are promoting right now?
Candace Kita: Yes, of course, I am the Managing Editor of Viva Glam Magazine, a women’s lifestyle magazine. http://www.vivaglammagazine.com Live the life you want and you can have it all, but live compassionately and with love.
ILSN: What is the nerdiest thing you have done?
Candace Kita: Well, I can think of one of the nerdiest things I would have done, had I have known in time. Last month, Grumpy Cat was in Santa Monica at a book signing. Apparently, people were waiting in line for over 5 hours to see her. Yep, I’m that girl. I probably would have stood in line for 5 hours myself because who would have gone with me?!?!?!
ILSN: Do people ever recognize you when you go out?
Candace Kita: I’m always shocked and surprised if anyone recognizes me. Once I was parking my car at a grocery store. A man came up to me and said he had just seen me on TV that very morning. I said thank you for noticing. He then said, “Girl, they need to give you more lines!!!” Haha, too funny!
ILSN: What is the craziest gift a fan has ever given you?
Candace Kita: Boy, what a question. I’ve gotten insane gifts, some of which I won’t mention, from probably mentally unstable people. But I have gotten some very nice hand drawings and also crochet (believe it or not) that I greatly appreciate.
ILSN: What is the hottest costume you have ever worn?
Candace Kita: Zombie Schoolgirl
